our volunteers behind our efforts
Whether it’s swinging a hammer, organizing merchandise in the ReStore, or serving on a committee, every volunteer plays an important part in ensuring that a local hardworking family has a decent place to live. At the end of the day, our volunteers tell us they take home from the build site much more than they brought with them; the satisfaction that comes from a job well done and memories that will last a lifetime.
Won’t you consider working with us to build not only a home, but strong families and a better community?

our Store
Did you know that proceeds from the Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity ReStore helps to fund the construction costs for the work that we do right here in Cumberland County? The ReStore is definitely the engine that keeps us running smoothly and our ReStore volunteers provide the fuel.
The ReStore offers shoppers a remarkable range of affordably priced new and used home improvement materials, accepts a wide range of donated materials from the public, and partners with the local community recycle centers to divert an impressive amount of materials from the local landfill annually.
The ReStore is constantly busy and our volunteers are involved in every essential function.

individual volunteers
Join our construction volunteers on Saturdays to work in all aspects of home construction as part of a team. The day begins with sign-in at 8:00 a.m. and typically ends around 2:00 p.m. Don’t worry if you’re inexperienced. Our work sites are supervised by skilled Habitat construction staff and volunteers who are on hand to give you instructions and assistance. You’ll work side-by-side with the family whose home you are helping to build and will be amazed at how much you’ll learn in a single day!
On the Build site
We are currently building what will be our 30th home in Cumberland County. We plan to build two homes a year. Volunteers are the real heart behind Habitat for Humanity. Each year, hundreds of volunteers lend a hand to build and rehabilitate homes with us right here in our community. Whether you’re a skilled builder or have never picked up a hammer, volunteering at the Habitat build site will be a life-changing experience for you and for our homeowners. Sponsor a project, bring a group, or come on your own. We can’t do it without you.
